I’m glad you want to know a little more about me! I’m going to let you in on a little secret… I didn’t grow up knowing that I wanted to be a photographer, but I always knew that I wanted to do something creative and purposeful. (Okay, so maybe the fact that I’ve been taking photos since I was little, was a big hint at what I’d end up doing in adulthood- but I had to take a few different paths along the way to end up exactly where I needed to be).
Growing up, cameras were always close by and our family’s instant polaroid camera and numerous disposable kodaks were the first catalysts to me discovering that documenting the little (often mundane) moments is what fuels my passion. Ever since I can remember, long before I knew that photography was what I would be called to do, I always felt an obsession with my family’s photo collection. It was nothing fancy, just a large cardboard box filled to the top with years of unorganized photos that my mom kept under her bed. I would spend hours and hours sifting through that giant box of memories. Many the photos were of moments that happened long before I even existed. I’d relish in the past and all the little details that shaped my family and that would eventually come to shape me.
My family’s memories, most that were not momentous on the surface, were invaluable to me. The little moments, like the images of how my Grandma used to do her hair and makeup at the kitchen table every morning, felt like the moments that mattered the most and are the ones that I am most grateful to have a reminder of. Looking at those images of my Grandma sends me back in time and I can still feel that kitchen table, and hear her voice, and remember how much I loved spending time with her and my Grandpa. My hope is that one day, you and your loved ones will look back on your images and have the same sentiment.
The flower in my logo is a Lily of The Valley- it was my Grandma’s favorite flower. It’s an ode my past that reminds me of why I am excited to share my passion with those who attract my work into their life.
I’m truly inspired by this beautiful Earthly experience that connects us all. I want to give you memories of the journey you’ve lived so that you can look back on your images and remember how amazing this lifetime has been. The big moments, the little moments, all of it. It’s all important and I hope you invite me in to create memories for you.
