2018 VACATION

The Thursday before Memorial Day, we packed up our rented mini van and headed out on our first family vacation. We drove 6 hours the first day and camped out in a hotel in Lexington, Kentucky. The next day we drove another 2 hours to our hidden little cabin in the woods in La Follette, Tennesee. Our cabin was deep in the woods nestled on a little lagoon on Lake Norris. Three days of no wifi or cell service gave us an opportunity to unplug and just be. We explored a little roadside beach we found on the drive into the cabin and had a bunch of friendly conversations with the people of the area. I was a little culture-shocked by how friendly everyone in the South is. After a few days of hiding in the woods, we set out Orlando where Joe's parents were waiting for us. We spent the next week enjoying Orlando, Clermont, Winter Garden, and taking a little day trip to Cocoa Beach. We were sad to return home to the hustle and bustle of home-life in Michigan, but we can't wait to start planning our next family trip!
