Meggan + Chuckie // Detroit Wedding Photographer // The Beach Detroit Couples Session

Who goes to the beach in April in Michigan? Well.. if it’s a badass indoor art installation, we do.

Chuckie and Megg spent their Saturday afternoon with me checking out The Beach installation (put on by Library Street Collective) in Downtown Detroit and then grabbing a couple of brews at Batch Brewing Company in Corktown. The art installation was buzzing with people playing in the giant ball pit. Laughing, jumping, relaxing on the beach chairs, and taking epic Instagram pics. The bright white and warm room was the perfect escape for such a cold Saturday afternoon. We kept saying how we wanted to take a nap and enjoy the warmth and sunshine all day. It really truly felt like you were at the beach even though you were in an office building in the middle of the city.

After we played at The Beach for an hour, we hopped on over to Batch Brewing Company for lunch and some beers. I will say that their Hefeweizen is by far the best Hef I’ve ever had. If you’re a fan of craft beers and good food, I highly recommend stopping by this little gem! You can even play some board games while you’re there.

Chuckie and Megg were so love-y and playful for their whole session which made for some amazing images! Detroit’s vibrant scene and hub for creativity makes it one of my favorite places to shoot lifestyle sessions. The city is ever changing and has so many hidden gems that the backdrop never gets stale.
