This one is for you, fellow photographers!

Have you ever sat in your car before walking into a shoot, researched your favorite photographers, Pinterest boards, and Instagram accounts to pick your favorite poses to try- only to forget everything you planned as soon as your start shooting?! Well, embarrassingly enough, that was me. I’d get home after a shoot and suddenly all of those amazing poses that I wanted to try come flooding back to me as I’m reviewing all the images I just shot. I’d be kicking myself for not remembering them during the shoot, but I would promise myself I’d remember them next time. (If only I could tape the list to the inside of my eyelids, right?! lol)

Photographers have a lot of things to think about while shooting like important details about the clients, locations, watching the sun, fighting crowds in popular areas, making sure all the gear is packed and charged, picking out the perfect camera settings for the scene, formatting memory cards, and remembering a list of poses just to name a few. Thankfully, I found the Unscripted Posing App and it has been a complete GAME CHANGER for me!! This app has so many helpful features that make planning my shoot and remembering awesome poses a breeze!

Before every shoot, I make a new session in the app and enter in all the details. Having all of the shoot information (phone numbers, addresses, emails, notes, etc) in one place makes it so easy to keep my shoots organized! Then I start browsing the poses and prompts that I feel will be a good fit for my client(s) and the location and add them to that specific photoshoot. Indoors, outdoors, sitting, standing, laying, jumping, running, and everything in-between!

The app even has poses to help you to remember to get the detail shots which are so important for storytelling. There are seriously HUNDREDS of amazing unscripted poses and prompts submitted from other photographers in this incredible community. (Once you join, you can submit your photos and poses to be shared!) Each pose even has a little prompt to go with it to to help bring out authentic emotion during the pose. Once all of my favorite poses are added to my photoshoot in the app, then BAM! I can pull out my phone during the shoot when I’m stuck and reference all the ideas I had in mind. No more forgetting poses and kicking myself later!

I think the coolest thing about Unscripted is the community it brings together from all over the world. Everyone believes in sharing their tips and tricks for helping others achieve success at their sessions and in their business! The app is worth every penny, but the community that comes along with it is priceless.
